So you guys help me out here. I have a JH kid that plays travel ball

(regional and national events). Whenever we attend a high school game to watch, I just cringe at the level of play compared with travel tournaments. High schools have/may have a handful of kids on good travel teams and others near rec level. But yet, everyone quotes the HS stats. Rarely do I ever see stats posted from travel ball. For instance, why don't we see U16 travel stats ERA or BA. If you were to tell me that Dail's ERA for the Beverly Bandits was 1.5, now we are talking. Even though I grew up in Lynchburg, I have no clue what level of talent she would see at Brookville.

Why does HS continue to be the stat standard?

Sorry, but the level of play is not even close to a PGF tourney or even good regional events.
